Brother Nelson Santos was born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil. Although he had been dedicated to the Lord as an infant, his parents backslid and therefore was raised in an ungodly home. At the age of 18, he enlisted in the Brazilian military. At that point in his life, he had no personal encounter or relationship with Jesus Christ and was headed down a path of destruction caused by sin. However, in 2001 he was invited to attend an Apostolic Youth Camp where God, in His mercy, filled him with the Holy Ghost at the age of 21. He was baptized in the wonderful name of Jesus the same night. The power of the Holy Ghost began to completely transform his life. Soon after, he started to feel that God was calling him to the ministry.
By the grace and mercies of God, he began to commit and consecrate his life to the things of God. In June of 2014, God placed Sister Kathryn into his life. They married one year later on June 13, 2015 at Inland Lighthouse Church in Rialto, California. One month later, with the blessing and support of their leadership, Bishop Larry Booker and Pastor Joel Booker, this young couple embarked on their journey to South Brazil.
Currently, Brother and Sister Santos, along with their two small boys, Levi and Judah are planting a work in Southern Brazil. In 2017, God placed a heavy burden for Bro. Santos to start preaching in the streets of their city. Although he had never done this before, God dealt heavily with him and he stepped out in faith. There were many obstacles along the way, but he continued to hold weekly services preaching in two main plazas in the city. They have witnessed God’s divine hand of protection, and have seen many souls touched over the years. They are seeing lives changed as a result of the weekly street services. This work in South Brazil is the product of a love for souls placed on a young couple’s heart—a deep burden and vision to share and spread the only true hope for the world: Jesus Christ.
