  • What is Seed?

    Seed is a crowd-funded, round-up mission’s fund whereby each Seed Giver contributes their spare change (via round-ups per purchase on a card of their choice) and the funds are aggregated into a fund and the fund is used to provide monthly support to global missionaries and missions projects. 

  • How does it work?

    Once a Seed Giver signs up and connects a credit card or debit card to their Seed Giver account, each purchase made by the Seed Giver will be rounded up to the closest dollar, and those funds will be used for the monthly support of missionaries and mission's projects. Think about it, each purchase of a cup of coffee will now how a purpose, and that spare change will impact missionaries!


  • Who does Seed support?

    Seed supports global missionaries who have to be qualified through a vetting process to receive funds for operational support and capital projects

  • Is Seed a part of an Organization or Fellowship?

    No, Seed is an autonomous mission’s fund, led by men and women of diverse 

    apostolic affiliations/fellowship.

  • Is there a minimum mission's donation per month?

    Yes, there is a minimum $9.00 platform requirement which ensures a minimum financial contribution is made to the cause of missions.

  • Can I direct my giving to specific missionaries and projects?

    No, Seed does not allow a user to give to one specific missionary. Seed exists to distribute funds equitably to all approved missionaries, and missions projects. 

  • Who determines where the funds go?

    Seed funding is distributed to ALL approved missionaries and missions projects 

    equally. All missionaries and missions projects are reviewed and approved by the 

    Seed Missionary Approval Committee.

  • As a pastor, can I request funds be directed to a specific missional project?

    No, Seed exists to distribute all funding equally to ALL approved missionaries and 

    missions projects.

  • How long does it take for financial support to reach missionaries?

    Distributions are made to Seed Missionaries each month. 

  • Can I see how much I give?

    Yes, each user can review and/or download their end-of-the-year giving statement directly within their Seed Giver account. 

  • Will I receive a contribution report?

    Yes, each user can receive and/or download their end of the year giving statement 

    directly within their Seed Giver account.


  • Is it tax-deductible?

    Yes.

  • Will there be public disclosure of the funding, how it was used, and to whom it is given?

    Yes, one of Seed’s core values is transparency.

  • Do I have to round up on every purchase I make, or can I pause my giving if I need to?

    Each purchase is rounded up. Yes, a user can pause his/her account.

  • What types of projects will my giving support?

    First, all funding is directed towards Supplemental Monthly Missionary Support (“SMMS”). SMMS helps fund the necessities needed by missionaries, such a food, shelter, transport, medical, etc. Secondarily, Seed funds projects such as the building of Bible schools, churches, orphanages etc. 

  • Is this for missions overseas or will it also support home missions in North America?

    At this time, Seed is focused on Global Missions. 


  • What security features are in place to protect my personal financial information from data leaks?

    All banking and financial institution data is processed by Plaid and Stripe, and therefore protected under their security policies. Both PLAID and Stripe are the leading platforms for trusted online banking security. 

FAQs for Missionaries

  • How do I apply to receive Seed funding?

    All missionaries, must fill out the Missionary Application Request Form found at https://www.seedgiver.org/application. An application will be sent immediately to 

    the email provided. All completed applications are reviewed by the Seed Missionary Approval Committee for the Seed preliminary review. Three members from the 

    Seed Missionary Approval Committee will schedule a Zoom interview with each applicant. Upon approval, the applicant will receive financial support subject to the financial calendar month cadence of final approval. 


  • I’m not a missionary now, but I am praying about becoming a full time missionary: Will Seed partner with me?

    Please have your pastor reach out to a Board Member or Seed Approval Missionary Committee Member to discuss your specific situation. Seed exists to provide supplemental financial support to as many apostolic missionaries as possible, who are in good standing with their pastor, and/or ministerial organization and have been approved by the Seed Missionary Approval Committee.
